Golden hour in Bergen in May

Bergen lies at 60.39° N, in the subpolar zone, with drawn-out twilight either side of midsummer. Its longest measured day falls on Thu 18 June 2026 with 19h 01m of daylight, and its shortest on Sat 19 December 2026 with 5h 45m — a difference of 13h 16m between the two extremes.

Evening golden hour in Bergen runs for roughly 82 minutes at the height of summer, 56 minutes around the March equinox and 145 minutes at midwinter. The warm window is actually widest in the colder months, which makes winter evenings unusually forgiving here.

The sun sets toward 326° NW in late June and toward 219° SW in late December, a shift of about 107° in where the last light lands — worth checking before committing to a west-facing viewpoint. In Bergen, around midsummer the sky never reaches full darkness — evening blue hour runs into morning twilight.
