Golden hour in Reykjavik in September

Reykjavik lies at 64.15° N, in the subpolar zone, with drawn-out twilight either side of midsummer. Its longest measured day falls on Sat 20 June 2026 with 21h 09m of daylight, and its shortest on Sun 20 December 2026 with 4h 07m — a difference of 17h 02m between the two extremes.

The sun sets toward 340° NNW in late June and toward 208° SSW in late December, a shift of about 132° in where the last light lands — worth checking before committing to a west-facing viewpoint. In Reykjavik, around midsummer the sky never reaches full darkness — evening blue hour runs into morning twilight.
